About the Event
George Washington spent more time in New Jersey and the Delaware Valley than in any other region during the Revolution, leading the Continental Army through pivotal moments from Trenton and Princeton to the long encampments at Morristown. Though he never visited Haddonfield, the town still touched his story: in November 1777, General Lafayette wrote to him from Haddonfield with urgent updates on troop movements in South Jersey. Washington would go on to preside over the creation of the Constitution and serve as the nation’s first President.
